· Tell us a little about yourself.
I was born in the colorful Marabastad to awesome parents, Mufti Hasware and Khatija.
· Tell us a little about your family.
I grew up in the most loving family. We were 8 siblings, but my brother ‘Kubla’ has passed away. May Almighty (SWT) grant him Jannah.

From my childhood at Andrew Anthony School, I met up with close friends like Zane Moosa and we played soccer before class, during break and after school.
· How many years in the sporting field?
50 years, religiously.
· For all our readers, please tell us what attracted you to this sport?
I have always been a keen supporter of local soccer. Birds FC especially, has always been very close to my heart. Soccer is and will always be in my blood. I hail from a soccer-loving family.
· What was your favourite victory and proudest moment?
In 1982 I scored 3 goals against Lenasia Utd.
· How did you develop your skill?
From a young age my brothers and I exercised daily with Smiley Moosa at the Laudium Stadium and also attended workshops for young boys.
· Who is your greatest inspiration?
My late father, Mufti Hasware, who was my motivator and my late brother-in-law Amir Hasware who was my greatest role model. May the Almighty (SWT) grant them both Jannah.
· What would you like the youth to take from your passion for the sports?
First pray when you arise in the morning and pray at night too. Stay away from drugs and alcohol. Respect your elders.
·What has this sport taught you off the field?
Discipline, respect and taking advise from elders.
· What message would you like to give to our readers?
Always stay humble. Thank the Almighty (SWT) and your elders for your well being.
· Whom would you like to thank for your accolades?
Firstly my creator. My parents, the Mohideen Hasware family, late Samad Betta, Rashid Moosa, Haroon Moosa, Zane Moosa and all former Birds officials and players. Hannaha moon and the star. My better half Nasira- my inspiration and the Laudium Sun for publishing my sports profile.
