Regarded as a people’s person and one of Laudium’s finest medical doctors, the dignified Dr Abdulaziz Joosub turned 75 yesterday (Thursday – July 14), with the grace of the Almighty.
A keen cyclist and hiker, Dr Joosub, more fondly known as Dr Abie, is well-known and respected by residents from all sectors of the community and has served the community for about 50 years, with dedication, zeal and compassion. Known for his humility and friendly smile, Dr Abie is often seen in the front line during fundraising campaigns, sporting events and social gatherings. An ardent music lover, Dr Abie is a great fan of the Bollywood singers of yesteryear, including Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar.
Dr Hamzah Bava, who is not only a colleague, but a close friend said, “Dr Abie is a brilliant doctor and I have learnt so much from him. He has not only been an inspiration to me, but to many other young doctors.
