Whilst it is common for residents or business people to be ‘taken for a ride’ by fraudsters pretending to be ethical in their respective business dealings, it is however rare when one hears of a brother catching his biological brother in business and more so taking over the whole business left to him to temporarily take care of, in a fraudulent manner.

That Waseem, the founder and owner of Moon and Earth Trading and Projects 347, who has a number of shops trading under the name ‘Ghaus’ where cellphones and other items are sold, had told him to inform the community through the Laudium Sun, of the events that left him disheartened. So speaking on behalf of Waseem, (who is in South Korea due to extended lockdown and thus has not been able to return), Nisar said the following, “At around 2011, I started the business, and where I was running shops in the Pretoria CBD and Sunnyside. At that time I needed a partner that I could trust. I then approached my brother, Arif Mohammad Asghar to join me in the business. My business takes me to different parts of the world to buy stock, especially South Korea, so I am often not in the country and left the business for my brother to run, whom I trusted with my life. Just before the start of the lockdown last year, whilst I was in Korea, I discovered that my business ownership had been changed and that I was no longer a partner. To make matters worse, I discovered that my brother was now the sole director of the business. I was very shocked and felt betrayed as my own brother did me down. I also discovered that Arif opened another bank account and took a loan out on behalf of the company. I have contacted DTI to reinstate myself as the director. I’m now the sole owner of the company Moon and Earth trading and Projects 347. I or my company, is not responsible for my brother Arif’s actions or future thereof. He made my company bankrupt, but I will start again and rebuild it.”
Ahmed Nisar, brother-in-law of Arif and Waseem, said, “Arif is in Pakistan now. Hopefully, he will come back one day and answer for this. Yes, we are speaking to you on behalf of Waseem who told us about the incident.”
