· Tell us a little about yourself.

I was born in Marabastad. I went to Ferguson High School, then we moved to Laudium in 1976.

· Tell us a little about your family.

I’m married to Shirley. We have five children; Beatrice, Samanthah, Ingle Jr, Ryan and Eschel.

·Tell us about your sporting career history.

I started by playing for Pretoria City, Smiley’s father’s team. Then I joined Sundowns. While I was at Sundowns, I also helped Kaizer Motoung to establish his team, Kaizer Chiefs. I played there in a few games, then came back to play for Sundowns until I retired and became the manager of Sundowns.

·How many years in the sporting field?

More than 55 years 

·For our readers, please tell us what attracted you to this sport?

I played football in the streets, where I developed a love for the game. That’s when I realised, I was destined to become a great player.

·What was your favourite victory and proudest moment?

My proudest moment was when I led Sundowns to winning the Transvaal Professional Soccer League (TPSL) three times in a row and also when we won the Brylcreem Tournament of the TPSL twice in a row. Also, later becoming the manager for the South African Football National Team, Under 17.

· How did you develop your skill?

By playing in the streets and being a fan of Issy Moosa and the Moosa brothers. That’s where I learned their traits and developed mine.

·Who is your greatest inspiration?

Locally, Issy Moosa, and internationally, Pele and Eusébio.

· What would you like the youth to take from your passion for the sport?

Be a great football leader and give young stars the opportunity to play professional football.

·What has this sport taught you off the field?

To respect people and give yourself an identity.

·What message would you like to give to our readers?

Dedicate yourself to the career path you have chosen. Never lose hope and always strive for success.
