The Laudium Sun received these Eid-ul-Adha messages from representatives of various organisations or Mosques, for the Muslim community at large. This is what they had to say… (Eid will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 21)

Moulana Sarfaraz Rehmat – Darul Uloom Pretoria, “We wish you Eid Mubarak. May Allah accept from you your sacrifice. May you receive abundant rewards and the blessings of Eid-ul-Adha. May Allah remove this pandemic from the world and protect this beloved country, South Africa. May He grant cure to those who are ill, maghfira and Jannat-ul-Firdous to those who have passed on and Sabr-e Jameel to those who have lost their loved ones. Aameen.”
Moulana Abubakr Aboo Chougly – Director of The Garden Social Services, “Peace and blessings. During these moments of turmoil and uncertainty, let us bring forward the great sacrifice of tolerance and patience. We learned that during these auspicious days of Eid-ul-Adha, our energy should float around family ties and establishing obedience within our children.
Let us not forget to personally reach out to the needy. Your assistance and support to their needs will create a huge difference in their lives. May you have a wonderful Eid-ul-Adha.”
Imam Qari Haq Nawaz – Milad Mustafa Mosque, “We are in difficult times of a pandemic and we ask Allah Almighty to remove this pandemic from us and to shower his mercy upon everyone. I pray that our community is safe, prosperous and at peace for the future. May Allah (SWT) bless the community and the whole world. Eid-ul Adha Mubarak.”
Faisel Moosa – Chairperson of the PMT Burial Committee, “This lockdown and violence has come during our special days, of Haj & Eid-ul-Adha. I pray for peace and stability in this country. May the teachings of Allah (SWT) and his prophet be your companion throughout your life. May this Eid-ul-Adha bring peace, prosperity, and happiness to you and your family!”
Qari Intekhab Patel, Imaam of Masjid Al-Haqq, entrance of Laudium, “In this time of hardship and challenges, we want all Muslims to endure and to keep turning to Allah (SWT), more especially with the multiple issues we face here and now. Remember that after hardship, there will be ease, as long as we hold on fast to that which Allah (SWT) has commanded us… that we fulfill our responsibilities to bringing about good. Eid Mubarak to everyone.”
Abdulkader Kurtha of Al Ghazali College, “This is an appeal to residents of Erasmia and Laudium and the whole country. During these trying times of the pandemic, but also ‘man-demic’, referring to looting and lawlessness. I ask everyone to pray for peace, stability and harmony in our country. Let’s work together for the benefit of our community, regardless of race, religion or status. An appeal to our government to be more proactive, especially the security cluster, in order to prevent such violent incidents in the future. What we have witnessed, is a threat to South African security, food and its citizens. We have confidence that the government will hunt down those who have brought the country to shame. These acts are bordering on treason, and the government must set an example about this. I hope that the community will come together to rebuild community losses. Eid ul-Adha Mubarak.”
