Celebrating Raksha Bandhan: Dhruv Patel & Tanisha Nandani.

Raksha Bandhan is a special Hindu festival which is celebrated to symbolize the love between a brother and sister. The occasion of Raksha Bandhan is celebrated on the full moon day of the Hindu calendar, in the month of Shravan. As per Sanskrit terminology, Raksha Bandhan means “the tie or knot of protection” where “Raksha” stands for protection and “Bandhan” signifies the verb to tie. On this day, a sister ties a sacred thread (Rakhi) around the right wrist of her brother and prays for his prosperity, longlife and well-being. The brother, in return, offers gifts and pledges to guide his sister through any difficulty in her life and to protect her from any harm.

The Laudium Sun wishes all those who celebrated Raksha Bandhan yesterday, everything of the best. “May the brother-sister bond of protection be strengthened and ever-lasting and may all your days ahead be filled with joy.”
