This past Tuesday, August 9, saw a packed gathering at the Laudium Care Services for the Aged (LCSA) National Women’s Day Fundraising Event, entitled “Maa Ka Pyar,” held at the Suleman Convention Centre in Erasmia. The seniors and other members of the audience were treated to the hilarious wit of comedian Muthoo Murugan and wonderful serenades by songstress Vandana and musicians. The LCSA paid a glowing posthumous tribute to two superstars who made immense contributions to the LCSA. It was an emotionally charged moment at the event, when the portraits of the late aunty Thanga Kollapen and the late Shazia Essa were unveiled. Chairperson of the LCSA, Ahmed Arbee said, “Though they are no longer with us on earth, I refer to our super moms as our angels in heaven. Their contribution to the LCSA remains embedded in our hearts, leaving a lasting impression of their sacrifices made in serving our seniors.”
