With the aim of motivating, encouraging and spreading that ‘lovin feeling,’ Laudium Care Services for the Aged (LCSA) hosted a function for senior citizens at their 3rd Ave premises (Bhidia Centre) in Laudium.
The elders were the true VIPs at the Valentine’s Day function held this past Monday (Feb 14 – Valentine’s Day) being entertained with music and also given gift hampers.
Chairperson of the LCSA, Ahmed Arbee addressed the elders, saying, “I see today as a special day for a very different reason as we have gathered here for the first time in almost two years since covid – 19 dominated our landscape. During this period, we have lost many of our senior citizens who succumbed to this vicious virus. We remember our dearly departed and pray their souls rest in peace. There is one lesson we learned from this pandemic and that is- life is short and life is unpredictable- So love is not just about February 14- love needs to be demonstrated and acknowledged every day in our life time!!! Spend your valuable time with your loved ones- spend time with your family-spend time with your friends and make everyone feel special. Love only grows when you learn to share and when you learn to give. So be a light in someone’s darkness. You can’t hug yourself neither can you place your own head on your shoulder. you can hire a driver to drive for you or you can even hire a hairdresser to do your hair, but if you are sick no one can take that sickness from you into their bodies, or if you feel like you have a short life no one can add their years of life to you. So, keep your shoulders wide and your heart open in supporting those who are starved of affection, who are lonely and depressed. Let kindness and compassion flow freely from your heart everyday of your life to give pure Love its true meaning. Remember we make living by what we get We make a life by what we give.”
