· Tell us a little about yourself.
I was born in Marabastad. I went to Ferguson High School and then we relocated to Eersterust in 1975.
· Tell us about your family.
I’m married to Irene, and we have four children.
· Tell us about your sporting career history.
I started playing for Mohawks FC in Marabastad, our local team. Then I joined Pretoria City. After that I went to play for Sundowns and then I joined Orlando Pirates FC. After a few years I went back to Sundowns. Later I joined Cape Town Spurs. During that time, I went to England to do trials for Leeds FC, then I was picked by Tampa Bay Rowdies FC in the USA.
· How many years in the sporting field?
More than 55 years.
· For our readers, please tell us what attracted you to this sport?
I played on the streets where I watched our older players showcase their skills, then I was hooked forever.
·What was your favourite victory and proudest moment?
When we won the TPSL (Transvaal Professional Soccer League), three times in a row with Sundowns, while I was Vice Captain. Winning the Fed League with Cape Town Spurs as the Captain and scoring 6 goals in one match. And, being chosen as one of the top ten great soccer players in South Africa.
· How did you develop your skill?
By playing on the streets with tennis balls. It taught us the skill of accuracy.
· Who is your greatest inspiration?
Pele, then local star, Issy Moosa.
· What would you like the youth to take from your passion for the sports?
Hard work and dedication to the sport of your choice.
· What has this sport taught you off the field?
Be respectful and humble. Always give your 100% effort in anything you do and love.

Follow your dreams, and never give up.
