JULOOS (MARCH) FOR THE 'DARLING OF CREATION'

THE PHYSICAL ARRIVAL OF THE HOLY PROPHET (P.B.U.H) TO THIS WORLD IS A GREAT MERCY AND BOUNTY UNTO HUMANITY AT LARGE

The celebration of the birth of the beloved Prophet S.A.W. in the form of a Juloos (march) has become a religious, as well as a historical event.

This annual event not only highlights the importance of the birth of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) but, in fact, emphasizes the values enshrined in showing love, dedication, commitment and selflessness for the best of creation.

This past Sunday (October 9) the streets of Laudium came alive when over a thousand men, women, and children marched in honour of the beloved Prophet (S.A.W.). The procession was led by respected ‘Ulema’ (leaders) representing the religious and social spectrum and commenced at the PMT Jumu’ah Masjid on Jewel Street in Laudium.

Soul-searching, faith inspiring and thought-provoking talks by the religious dignitaries gripped the crowd in a frenzy of excitement and ecstasy. Recitations of Naat-e-Paak Rasool (S.A.W.), and the vociferous and spontaneous chants of “Ya Rasoolallah” and “Jashne Meelaad-un-Nabi Zinda Baad” echoed on the lips of young and old.

Laudium has not seen such pomp and festivity, such dazzling floats, and awe-inspiring banners in a long time. A huge entourage of motor vehicles, vans, and trucks displaying eye-catching decorations and slogans transformed Laudium into a hive of activity. On every face was unbounded joy. In every heart was unshakeable love and glory for Almighty Allah and His beloved Prophet (S.A.W.) The generosity and gesture of the brothers who distributed sweets and fruits and drinks, made the occasion one to be savoured, for a long, long time.

The march terminated at the Darul Uloom Complex on Taj Street. Maghrib prayers were performed at Sayyidina Ghause Azam Masjid and various Niyaaz foods were distributed amongst the huge crowd. People from all walks of life and from every nook and cranny flocked in their thousands to reap the spiritual benefits of celebrating the birth of the greatest ‘Mercy to Mankind.’ That was the Juloos this past Sunday.
