What a pleasing way to begin the new year…celebrating the incredible academic achievements of our young matric stars and future leaders. Your efforts through 2021 have been extraordinary, given the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
We are sure that the challenges you faced have not only made you stronger and more resilient, but more sure about what you want in life and more determined to go out there and get it. We are also certain that this experience will have taught you a most valuable lesson, and that is that hard work, consistency and perseverance are essential to reap dividends. In the words of President Cyril Ramaphosa, “We applaud the multiple successes and improvements recorded by learners during this second year of challenges presented by Covid-19.”
Remember, as you step into this new chapter of your life, the world can indeed be your oyster.
To those who did not pass these matric exams, do not despair. Stay positive. You only truly fail when you quit. In the words of Madiba, “The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.” Yes, muster up the courage to get out there and try again and never, never give up!
A word of thanks, to all those who submitted information, so that we could compile the list of top matric achievers that features in this edition of the Laudium Sun. And, we should certainly not forget a word of thanks to all those educators and parents out there, without whom we certainly would not be celebrating the fantastic academic achievements, we are today.
To the Class of 2022
As we congratulate our matrics of 2021, we encourage the matrics to be, those now in grade 12, to work as hard as you can and to aim for even better results. Reach for the stars and give it your best shot. Make 2022 a truly notable year.
